Title: Polarity Protection in RM error?
Post by: formerMember1 on December 29, 2005, 11:37:54 PM
hi,

isn't an accidental reverse voltage going to blow out that electro before it gets to the polarity protection diode?  shouldn't the diode be connected to ground before the cap so nothing gets blown if reverse polarity is accidentally put in pedal?
or am i not thinking clearly,...?  :icon_redface:

thanks  :D

PS:cuz i was gonna use the layout, but need to modify it anyway for trimpots, so was wondering if i should move the pp diode before the electro,..

I cna't see the image, but I think they're parallel, so the diode'll clamp and the electrolytic won't see reverse V.
