So yesterday I finished a Tubescreamer 808 Clone, and today i recordet a clip.
The amps on low volume so the tubes isn´t cranked at all, since i couldn´t play louder right now.
Its recorded with a SM57, no EQ just a little reverb.
It would be nice to get some reviews because i dont´t have much experience in how a "real" 808 sounds.
Sound-Clip here! (http://www.nordpolenexpress.se/davetronix/ts/tsklipp1.mp3)
Heres a pic of it!
The paint and decals are still to come.

You link doesn't seem to work
pyrop ;D
sorry! now it works!
Nice clip there Spufuz.
Sounds like an "808" to me
Sounds correct to me! ... cool, nice playing ...
Strat & Fender tube amp?
RDV
Stratiousness ... er Strat-TS Sounding as ever...
Fine Blues Play Mahn...
RDV:
Its a USA Strat in my Elmwood Modena 60W all tube head with matching cab (2x12 w. V30s).
Sounds like SRV to me. It must be a strat, a tube screamer and some serious chops. Nice work. It sounds great.
Scott :icon_mrgreen:
Very good sound!!!!
Hey that's an awful good amp there! I'm sure your pedal is working fine but I bet almost any pedal would sound good with that rig.
Check it. http://elmwood.se (http://elmwood.se)
RDV
yep! its a darn good amp!
Actually, you can see my amp here, theres only one made in that finish!

Damn, now you made me itch for a TS. I hate you. Not negatively though.
Unrelated, sorry for hijacking the thread:
Can anyone say if the tone of Son of Screamer suffers because of such simplifications or does it preserve all of the nice SRV (well, with a nice amp and geetar obviously)? I'm just lazy, that's all.

Jimbo
Nice sound!
Sounds like you nailed it. :)
Doug
Sounds great! Really nice playing too dude! Geez I hope I can get mine to work! ;)
:icon_biggrin: Yeah baby! I look for the tone, and transpanrency, and I here both. Well done!
ya know,
I am one of the few that has never like the TS808 but now, I'm thinking I may have too soon!
Excellent sounding clip.......Really good!!
thank you for the reviews!
Anyone who has their own soundclips of a TS or TS-clone?
I would really like to hear!!
Added picture with decals and ready to play! :)
I loved the finish, clean but very beautiful. how did you made it?
To Jim's question,
My Son of Screamer builds are remarkably close to my TS9DX (I don't have and 808 so its all I can compare it to). Not to knock SpuFuz's build because it rocks, but personally, I don't think there is much mojo in the buffers. I have some sound clips comparing the two, I just don't know where or how to post them. Send me a message with your e-mail and I can send them to you.

Its just sand-blasted (is that what its called in english), anyway you know when you blow sand at a surface you get that finish.
And then theres some layers with clear-varnish. ;D
Where do I place my order?
;D
email me and we´ll talk about it..
sounds great! What parts did you use? Any pics of the guts?
thanks, its filmcondensers exept the 51pf one. and the OP is RC4558P.
