Title: Orientation of the 3PDT footswitch
Post by: pahurst on November 08, 2006, 09:25:48 AM
This may be a dumb question, but I could not find the answer anywhere, but how do you know the correct orientation for the 3PDT footswitch.  It looks like the only notation on mine, is maybe a number 4, which is half peaking out the side of one of the corner pins or terminals,---or whatever you call it.  I just need to know if mine is right side up or upside down, so I can start connecting the wires to it.

Thanks

You may want to read the FAQ (http://www.diystompboxes.com/wiki/index.php?title=DIY_FAQ).  This question and many more are answered.

For more immediate gratification, this (http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/images/3PDTwiring.jpg) may help.   :icon_wink:

And this too...

But really, sit down with your continuity checker and probe the switch for awhile.
Then study every layout drawing with a 3PDT in it.

Eventualy you form a mental picture in your head.
