Title: Update On The 4PDT Switch
Post by: smallbearelec on January 24, 2007, 07:32:55 AM
I had promised to check into this and wanted to let you know that I had done. I stopped at Cliff's booth while at NAMM and was given a couple of samples, so I know it's real. They could not give me a date for stocking volume, but I will stay in touch and order as soon as they confirm I can.

Being sort of a new guy, what do you think you'd use a 4PDT switch for?

4PDT can be used for stereo switching, as noted, but can also be used for order switching.  E.g., A before B or B before A.  I imagine some folks might find it useful for switching between a couple of pot presets, or between "Univibe" vs phaser cap values.  There are plenty of uses for them, though obviously the wiring is not for the novice or faint of heart.

So when will the 5PDT be available (stereo true bypass with LED)?  Or does such a suggestion get a man smacked around here?  :P

nah, i think they'll go straight to the "dual core-PDT" for twice the switching power!!!  :icon_wink:

Cute. :icon_lol:

After a certain number of contacts, your market starts to drop as the niche gets smaller.  The reliability of the switch also starts to drop as you have more contacts spread over a wider area.

I got a couple of samples from Cliff, very nice switch. The only drawback I can see is that it's a 2x6 lug configuration, so it's a little long which will affect positioning inside an enclosure.

Not to hijack or anything but, a while back I placed an order from smallbear and shortly thereafter received said order.
Nice dealings all around is all :icon_biggrin:

Plenty of times I've looked at wanting another row of T's and another P.
If you want stereo TB and LED indicator, it looks like Millenium is your best currently available option.
