Hi, i 'm new to the board here(and building pedals). I built Robin Tomtlund's Red Fuzz Project with a GGG pcb and am having some problems getting it to work(obviously, that's why i am here). You can find the schematic on the General guitar gadgets site. I was wondering if anyone has ever built this pedal or can just give me some insight as to what might be the problem. The true bypass works properly and the LED comes on when the switch is engaged but there is just a bunch of noise and hissing coming through. I checked the voltages on the IC and they were not correct, if i was even doing it right? How exactly do you check the voltage? I have a greenlee multimeter. Which setting should i use and which needle goes where? Any other ideas as to what my problem might be?

Generally speaking, the black wire goes to ground and the red wire goes to what you are probing. I believe most DMM have a 2V DC then the next setting is 20V DC. You will want to use 20 since your pedal is making 9v which is more than 2v. You will want to read the above thread, then post voltages so we can help with the diagnosis.
Here are the voltage readings from the IC.
Pin:
1=-.25v 8=0v
2=5.0v 7=7.0v
3=0v 6=5.0v
4=0v 5=0v

Pin 3 should be at about half of what pin 7 is at... Check 470k resistors. Good luck!
I never measured my clone but I guess that:
pin 2 = pin 3 = pin 6 = near 4.5v
pin 4 = 0v
pin 7 = 9v
pin 1 = pin 8 = 0v ¿?
BTW, always breadboard first with the components you are going to solder and use ic sockets.

yeah, i did breadboard and use ic sockets. I will check the 470k resistors today and see if i can come up with anything
