fizzle fizzle pop- it's what i get out of it-it seems to really drop in volume when switched on- it does distort but it;s very muffled by static- Help- im new to this  and Im sure there is enough willing and eager experts on this subject... thanx in advance.

It might not be the switch wiring, but I always do the debugging with a plain ckt.
 Theres applicable info in 'debuggiing' at the top of the page..audio probe etc.
 I cna usually tell by what kind of buzz the ckt is making [base er signal input of gain tranny is usually a louder buzz when touched by metal connected to hand than the collector is].
 Check all ground and pos supplies with the 'beeper' mode [continuity] of the DMM to the battery clip.
 I check every darn theing I can with the DMm [mine half died I found out today]...
