In my efforts to find and easy/tough/colorful coating for some new products, I recently tried airbrushing 1shot enamel on aluminum enclosures and then applying a clear powder coat.
The results are very favorable. Ease and colors of enamel with the strength of powder.
My question though is, is this going to look good in the long run? Will the enamel interact poorly with the powder, chipping or discoloring? Why haven't I heard of this method before?!

Nice work! I don't get how powdercoat over paint works, I thought you have to electrify the bare metal to make the powder cling to it?
I've seen people paint over powder coat but not the other way around. The adhesion issue certainly can come into play. The paint may get in the way of the powder really grabbing on to the surface. It could break away. Also the fact that you have to bake the powder to a high temperature that may cause damage to the paint. The paint may also expel chemicals that could react with the powder during baking.
I'm not sure if this is a great idea. There are alot of factors in play.
