I'm a little confused here, these jacks have that lip on them that juts out a bit from the jack. Do I want the drilled hole to be big enough to allow this through? Or does that stay inside the case. I don't really see how these installs...I do have two types of washers to work with, the regular flat kind and the beveled.
You talking about the ones with the silver nut/flange?
Take a look at older Marshall amps that use them.
just the lip sould stick out the front and the bevelled nut screws into the chassis a bit.
So the lip actually sticks out from the enclosure then?
Here is what I'm asking really... So before I drill too big and can't go back, might as well get it right the first time.

I drill these so the lip fits IN the hole, then I use the washers included to make it flush with the enclosure. Then, use the beveled washer on the outside to protect the finish.
Sounds good to me, thank you!
You're welcome. I should have clarified... I use the flat washers on the inside, and the beveled one on the outside.
I thought I said that, but looking back at my post, I didn't. Sorry about that.
most effect have it drilled like the first diagram as if they are PCB mount jacks you wouldnt get it into the enclosure using the second diagram.
