Title: old enclosures
Post by: reggaestylee9103 on April 09, 2008, 09:40:26 PM
Does anyone know where i can get some old eclosures or shells of vintage pedals with some or no guts.  like a Electro-Harmonix one (Big Muff, LPB, etc.) or a fuzz face or any pedal for that matter.

Music stores. Just ask if they have a junk box with any dead pedals in it. They'll often have a few that they'll sell you cheap. Sometimes you can fix them yourself, and sometimes they're just a donor for the enclosure.

Unfortunately, you they might ask more for a dead pedal than what you could buy a new Hammond box for and drill it yourself, so you can't always count on it.

Post an ad on craigslist looking for old DOD pedals.
People sell working ones that you'll get knobs and lots of other parts for $10 or $15 all the time.
They're not bad enclosures, weird battery tray and funky 1/8" phono jack for power, but the parts are worth more than that.
You could probably get busted ones for $5 to free. Repaint them and you're set.

Cheers,
