Title: Wiring question

I am wondering how I would go about wiring two effects in one box. I want one effect to be always on, and then have a switch for a JFET boost before/after it, I'm not sure which one yet. No LEDS or anything, just a DPDT toggle switch. I really have no idea how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Borrowing from www.runoffgroove.com  you could use this and just substitute "effect 1" and "effect 2" where it says "jiggle" and "bounce"

Search for the Double D and it should be clear. 

Edit: You said you wanted one always on so I guess you could just have your effect on and use a typical true bypass loop wiring, minus the jacks.

So, Input jack -> input of effect that's always on -> output of effect to middle lug of dpdt -> upper lug of dpdt to input of effect that you want switchable -> effect out to other upper lug of dpdt -> other middle lug of dpdt to output jack.

Or did you mean you want to be able to switch the order of the effects?  Just curious, why do you want this effect to always be on?

I don't want to switch the order, I just haven't decided whether I want the boost before or after. It's the ROG Peppermill that I'm building, and I already have an enclosure drilled for 3 pots and a switch, so I decided that I'd put a boost in too. I want it always to be on for some unknown reason, it just sounded good in my head. Thanks again.

  Having 'something' on all the time has advantages, such as the HF's get to the amp input, and if you like the sound of the amp being pushed hard than pickups with either effect, it is possible to get unity or above on either side of the switch.
  Peppermill is sort of an OD/Boost already.

Yeah, they point was to have the OD, then the boost to "kick it up a notch" or whatever you would call that. I only really thought of sticking it in there to fill the holes I had already drilled.

FYI:

Boost into OD = Thicker OD, more distortion
OD into Boost = Volume boost (if there is overhead in the preamp of your amp, that is)
