Title: Line 6 MM4 vs. Rotovibe
Post by: sevenisthenumber on August 24, 2008, 07:26:56 PM
I currently use a rotovibe in chorus mode for that "Hendrix/Trower" thing alot but i have found the need for some stereo chorus and maybe some other thing that the MM4 offers. I love the rotovibe tone and was wondering if any owners of the MM4 out there get a good "Univibe tone" comparable with the Rotovibe? Just wanting to condense down to the MM4 and drop the roto and my shape shifter trem "IF" the tone is as good.

Never was impressed by that patch on the mm4, to be honest.  The tremolos are what I like in that box, and the choruses, and that the expression pedal changes between knob settings.  That alone kind of makes it a good performance tool even if some of the sounds are lacking in character.

But why not consider building a real Uni-vibe clone?  You'll love it if you're after that sound.

I don't really remember much about the MM4 as I don't own one and only have played them a few times but I always found the Rotovibe to sound kinda well...boring. I gutted mine and put in another vibe design and was much happier.

Probably the common uni-es around here that get a good rep are the Neovibe and Easyvibe.
