Title: Kay tremolo with blend control, MarkM style
Post by: AM on May 24, 2009, 04:05:04 AM
Hi,
I'm in the process of building a Kay tremolo and I want to include the blend control as found here:
http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/MarkMs-Gallery/album15/album76/OhKay+Tremolo+LAYOUT_001.png.html (http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/MarkMs-Gallery/album15/album76/OhKay+Tremolo+LAYOUT_001.png.html)

Mark uses an 1M pot but I have also seen an other way to implement that blend control using an 100k pot here:

Dragonfly has a layout with a blend control using a 10k pot here:
http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/album19/album145/KAY_TREMOLO_001.jpg.html (http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/album19/album145/KAY_TREMOLO_001.jpg.html)

Does anyone know which one of those approaches gives the most versatile results? What is the the empirical difference in different pot values? Also Could I use a 10k pot for rate or speed instead of the 5k Mark uses? What would be the result of raising that pot value up to 10k? Volume boost capabilities?
Thanks in advance

I'll bump this once because I really want to see if there is anybody who tried or knows about the differences.
