my wonderful shop for parts dose not stock 1914 diodes or 2N5088 Transistors........needed to build the Big Muff green Russian im trying to make from tonepad.com, anything eels i can use and still keep it reasonable authentic?
this is the shop i use http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/transistors.html so what have they got i can use :)

First of all, Electro Harmonix is (in)famous for using whatever they could get at surplus sales to build pedals, so building it out of whatever you can get *is* authentic!
Second, NPN transistors vary - a lot! - so in many cases, one NPN signal transistor is within the normal range of variation of another type.
The bottom line is - "keep it reasonable authentic" is not a huge consideration. :icon_biggrin:
Out of that list from bitsbox, the BC548B or BC548C would be dandy. You **must** take the actual pinout into account when building, or you'll be back here telling us your build doesn't work. :icon_biggrin: BC109 would too. Same comment.
The 1N4148, which bitsbox does stock, is almost identical to the 1N914. Use those.

Thank you, have grabbed some of the BC548B and 1N4148......but, when you say You **must** take the actual pinout into account when building, what do you mean?

Thanks for the link, grabbed a few 2n3904's too, will breadboard up and see what wors best for me :)
