Title: How low is the output volume of the Maestro FZ1-S?
Post by: gigimarga on September 29, 2009, 06:32:52 AM
Hello,

Sometime ago I've built a Maestro FZ1-S (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_maestro_fz1s.pdf (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_maestro_fz1s.pdf)) and I'm still in love with it.

The only problem that I have with it is the very low output volume: I think this is about 1/2 or 1/3 (with scooped on) from the clean signal!!!

After I've built it I try to modify it, but with no luck.

So, my question is: the original has the same problem or not?

Thx all!

I have an original, and while I have not used it in a long time, I do not remember it as being too quiet.  It gave a nice boost to level in effect mode.

Probably it'll need some bias... could be that? Check for wrong placed transistors or electrolitics.

Thx Mark and slideman82 :)
Mark, when you will have sometime, could you gracefully post the voltages?
