Title: Baxandall 2 band EQ
Post by: Sauerkret on December 03, 2009, 05:43:11 AM
For my wah project (a modded parapedal) i want to use a 2 band Baxandall EQ before the wah.
Can somebody check my pcb layout before i have it made?

Regards, Eric

Ahh, I see some issues, man....C1, R1, R2, pin 3 to gnd. are ok, as is V+.  You're going to jumper the holes by pin 4 and keep the chip gnd separate from the signal to reduce noise, right?  Provided the pinout is the same as other common dual opamps, those connections look OK.

Not really clear why R3 and R5 appear 2x in the schematic but not on the layout, and are C4 and C3 interchanged? That could be important, lol.   I had to guesstimate what resistors were what.  With a couple of modifications, the layout might be easier to read and check!  But by doing some guesswork, I think you have it right (provided you mirror the image before transferring it to the PCB for etching!).

That's my 2c, can we get someone to have a 2nd look?

The order of the cap's an resistors is random. They are not numbered as in the schematic.
I was a bit lazy.

All in all I'd say "lazy" isn't the best way to approach this problem if you want it to work.

  • I can't seem to find the power supply decoupling caps mentioned in your schematic on your PCB.
Look closer, everything should be there (component wise).
  • C1/R1 and C3/R5 on the PCB layout appear to live together in the same holes?
Your point?
  • The negative supply rail got lost from schematic to PCB.
As you can see it says ground twice this is an error, the top one should read V-. my bad
  • On such a generous amount of PCB real-estate, why do you need jumpers?
I'm new to doing this myself.
  • The wiring layout only includes power to the LED.
This is only a schematic for the switching operation with DPDT and 3PDT switch.
