Title: Big muff volume pot shorting out
Post by: Smoky Barnable on December 21, 2009, 05:37:01 PM
The middle terminal on my R25 volume pot is cutting out when I wiggle it. I pulled the blue wire off and when I touch it to the left or right terminal it kicks in and works. Is my pot bad? What does that blue wire from the switch to the middle terminal on the volume pot do anyway?

Thanks.

The blue wire carries your effect output signal to the footswitch.  You might be able to squeeze the contacts on the middle terminal w/ needle-nose pliers.  If not, replace it.

Touching either outer lug with the blue wire shouldn't work, only the one with the green wire as shown in the diagram. The black wire should be going to ground, therefore if you touched that pot terminal with the blue wire you shouldn't hear a thing.
