Title: Dunlop Uni-Vibe UV1 Debug
Post by: jimifanwing on August 12, 2010, 09:19:31 AM
Rookie needs a little help!   I am trying to repair a Dunlop Uni-Vibe UV1 that I purchased "non-working".   It passes a signal, but no sweep.    When I uncover the lamp/photocells the lamp is illuminated nicely, but no pulse.  The photocells are very responsive when I manually reflect light at them and the sound is the normal sweep one expects to hear.  I replaced all the ribbon wiring with individual wires and inspected all connections, but still no pulse.  I know I can't expect a "magic answer" but I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed and which areas of the circuit to check out.   I haven't located an accurate schematic specific to this Dunlop version and assume I'm  kinda off the map.   Thanks!

You might want to look for fried protection diodes or other components if the previous owner plugged in a wrong power supply.  Just something to consider.

Thanks for that advice.  I  did have to purchase the correct power source, so perhaps the previous owner did something he shouldn't have.
