Title: Wiring 1/4" closed circuit jack
Post by: Electric Eel on August 24, 2010, 05:55:33 PM
Hello

I'm currently building my first effect (on a breadboard), but i'm having some problems. One of the possible causes could be that i wired the input & output jack incorrectly. Im working with this ( http://www.velleman.eu/distributor/products/view/?id=340810 ) type of jack, and i'm following this ( http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/album18/album144/BAZZ_FUSS.jpg.html ) schematic.

Could you guys explain to me which connectors on the jack are the sleeve, ring and tip?

Thanks!  :)

Hello,

Please see this topic (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=86012), where you will find the answer. Ronsonic's post pretty much sums it up. :)

Good luck!

Mike

Can be verified, but helps if knowing what to look for with DMM, cable[s Jacks, the jacks can do different things, trick is to get 'em doing exactly and only what you want them to, related to various conditions [inserting plug may change jack connections].
Follow the tip/sleeve [ring?] wipers through the bottom [ under good light], any switch wipers.
Velleman link showed a ''country?'' page.
