Title: small stone noise issue
Post by: ampedup on October 05, 2010, 09:48:01 PM
I have a small stone phaser from the early eightys and it has started making a ticking sound in time with the phaser. I tried a wall wart and it got even louder. I went ahead and replaced the old electrolytics but that didn't help. you can faintly hear the ticking when its in bypass too. could it be a transistor going bad?

LFO ticking, particularly in the SS, has been a frequently-discussed and revisited topic.  Do a search.

I found some band aid kind of fixes but not a solution to the real problem. this peddle didn't allways tick so something must have gone wrong with a component.
