Title: Simple L-Pad attenuator
Post by: guitarify on November 19, 2010, 02:26:19 PM
I was going to try making a simple L-Pad attenuator for my Little Giant. Is this how it should be hooked up? I also heard something like a 4uf cap can be added to bring back some of the highs. How would that be wired in?

Wiring looks good.

Put the cap across the green wires to retain highs as you roll the l-pad back. Experiment with values - you may even find that you like it without

So I built this thing, works great. I added the 4uf cap across the the L-pad(green wires in my drawing) and wasn't sure I was hearing much of a difference. So I put in a switch and found that the cap..it does nothing! I just clipped one of the caps leads and inserted a spst switch. That should work right?
