I am looking for a rotary potentiometer that has an onboard SPST switch HOWEVER, I need the switch to be INDEPENDENT of the potentiometer part. Meaning, it must be a push or pull switch that is actuated by the shaft of the pot.
I have found A LOT of pots with SPST switches but.... they all work WITH the pot. As in, when you rotate the pot from 0 to 1, the switch engages, or when you go from 1 to 0 the switch turns off.
I want to be able to have the switch independent so that I can have the pot at ZERO but I can still turn the switch on/off by pulling up on or pushing down on the pot shaft.
Just off the top of my head, stewmac has push-pull pots.. but only in a few values, and they aint cheap:

.. but I think that's what you're after? There's got to be better sources, though.

Switch is independent of the pot. It's a push-in clicky switch.
Some on-line sources charge unreasonable prices for these:

Hehe... I was looking at those on your site after I replied. DPDT, even. Do a Rat with a couple of those... Tone/Filter could double as the Stock/Turbo switch, one in the gain section to tap in a switchable Reutz mod, and one on the Volume for doing something else awesome. (should be able to fit those all in a 1590A, right?) :icon_lol:
I saw the pots on Steve's site however, I was hoping that I could find one with a SPST switch. The DPDT will definitely work as long as the switch is INDEPENDENT of the pot.
Steve.... Is this pot a push/pull action or is it a turn-to-click pot?
I've used Smallbear's and they are pushpull and will fit in a 1590B.
