Title: IDEAL guitar input for AVR/ARDUINO?
Post by: loss1234 on April 18, 2011, 12:03:41 PM
With its 0-5v input, I was wondering what the best way to feed a guitar signal into the AVR would be. As the straight guitar signal is much too quiet to get
full 0-5v resolution, would it be best to BOOST the signal first? (to a 5 range?)

I assume i need to put a cap first in the chain.

Are there are any examples out there?

thanks so much

Power a Rail to Rail op-amp at 5V and use a Vref of 2.5V. DON'T decouple it but do boost it up using the op-amp. You'll get roughly 0-5V depending on the gain.

I meant produce your own externally at 2.5V.
