I believe he's hitting the hardware stores kitchen department looking for nice door handles.

yer i have tried taking a look in the stores for kitchen hardware but they all seem to be standard sizes, none of which is small enough for width-ways on a 1590BB:(
needs to be 90mm center to center or so...

What about picking up a piece of rod at a hardware store in the thickness you want, then bending it to your needed size and use a tap/die set to thread the ends of it, then put a nut on the inside of the enclosure to hold it in place?

Or an easier (but not quite as pretty) piece of threaded rod with a gender changer on the ends and a screw thru the enclosure (like this (http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/1461/threadedrod.jpg))

I believe they are called "wire pulls".

I get mine from B&Q. Not in the kitchen section, rather the general hardware section. About £10.48 for six, 64mm centre to centre IIR

Electronics stores sell these as pull handles for rack-mounted equipment.  Hammond sells them as the 1427 series.  Check it out:

Check out the Keystone electronics catalog - I think you can order them through mouser.

I also think these tube guards look nice too...

For the people who cannot get these (like me: ali express doesn't ship to the Netherlands), you can also get these from tube-town or (in bigger quantities) from mableaudio. I'm sure there are more suppliers.
