Title: How do I add an LED to my amp's footswitch?
Post by: cdc3j on May 31, 2011, 11:10:05 PM
I have a Dr. Z Perscription Extra Strength with the "overdose" boost footswitch. I keep running into this problem of forgetting whether I turned the Overdose switch off. It's basically just an on/off switch with a hard wired cord going in. I would like to add an LED (which probably means adding a 9v or power jack) as well as a 1/4" plug so I can run the footswitch with a longer or shorter cord, depending on the stage size. I'd like to do the same thing with the old style Fender vib/rev switch too. Thanks for any help.

it depends on how the footswitch is wired... or on your will to mod your amp a bit. adding the battery would be the easy way to go, but other ways are possible too... I think the Mesa Lonestar had a nice footswitch wiring, I don't remember it now, but when I saw it I thought it was smart...
