Title: Little help with a Bit Crusher

hi

first of all: i'm a DIY stompboxes noob ;D.

i've found this schematics on www.experimentalistsanonymous.com, it's simple but i have a little question:

what is "X1, X2, X3 & X4" ? i've to put something right there?

Well it is written in the picture . Use 2 dual opamps .

Another question: what is the difference to use two with 2 opamp or one with 4 opamp?

Maybe they recommend 2 duallies to avoid the oscillator from bleeding into the buffer. Maybe having everything "under the same roof" in a quad may create noise problems.

Just guessing.
