Title: Help!!- TC Flashback
Post by: miklax on October 08, 2013, 05:21:50 PM
Hi there friends,

I hope I can find anyone kind enough to help me.... :)

I've received a TC Flashback for repair.. but it has blown a few components beyond recognition...
Would anyone please share a few hi.res pictures of the both sides of the board?

Thanks in advance!

if you post pictures of what you have, we might be able to guess what the parts were.

Hey!!

I've managed to find this pic of a working pedal..
Unfortunately I cant read the inscription on the parts.. :S
I have little experience on identifying SMD components.. Anyone can identify these ones?

On the red square I can read R4 on it's top, It seems to be a diode...
The component on the green square, seems to be a resistor wich burnt..
Also... I'm a bit suspicious about the other component on the orange square.. I can read L4.... It has another character, but I cant identify it.. maybe a Shottky diode??

Cheers

the red square is most likely a shottky diode.  1A/30V variety.  the green square might be a fuse of some sort, or just a resistor.  there is some small chance its an inductor.  the orange square is a transistor, diode, or voltage regulator.

are there any designators under the squares?

these look to be part of the powersupply section.  can you follow where the traces and see what connects to what?  i am guessing that the shottky and resistor/fuse/inductor thing are just protection on the input.  you might be able to find out more information about the orange square part from the datasheets for ic9/10.  those are the switching powersupply chips.

What g-u-e-s-t said.

I can see the red square has D6 marked nest to it, protection diode.
green square is a resistor, try and read the numbers on it and that will tell you the value.
orange square could be a transistor , diode or voltage reg, that whole area of the pcb looks like PSU components and likely to be part of a 3.3v supply for the sdram chip and dsp chips.

Hi folks, I've managed to get a few detailed pics  using an improvesed microscope.. :D

The R4 part (maybe some kind of Diode?)

L4t (shottky diode - BAT54):

The Switching regulator (ST1S03)

And finally the burnt resistor:

Now that I've identified these components, maybe I can start the repair :)
Cheers!!
