Title: Stereo Panner Project
Post by: mth5044 on July 13, 2014, 01:19:12 AM
I suppose stereo panner is what this would be called. Basically two stereo trems operating opposite of one another. For example, one input would go left - center - right while the other goes right - center - left so they swirl around. Basic rounded triangle opamp LFO with an inverter tagged on. The LED's are labeled A and B and the corresponding LDR's have the labels that match up. Two LDRs around each LED.

There are two depth pots which would likely be a dual gang pot, but two could be used to have one signal wobbling back and forth a bit while the other going full in either direction. I had tried to make a single depth pot and invert it afterwards, but it also inverted the the bias.

Lots of opamps, perhaps there is a better way to do it. Currently it's only a schematic, no layouts yet. Unverified. LDR should be 500R/500k.

I might have to breadboard the lfo with a TL072 just to see that rounded triangle wave on the scope.
Thanks.
Interested also in how a dual tremelo is not going to sound like a constant sound and sound like swirl. I still have a lot to learn.

If they were the same signal, I suppose they would sound the same, but why would you be panning the same signal in stereo?  You'd get more mileage if they were slightly different signals going in, such as the input from a stereo modulation pedal.

The waveshape looks something like this, according to the sim.
