Title: vs1053 audio processor - anyone used it?

I noticed this chip is available as a Shield. At first glance it might just be another mp3 file player, but it looks as though it could do a lot more, possibly standalone, as the DSP can have user code installed.
Has anybody used it in an effect?

Cool.
Maybe post something even if it isn't interesting? For the benefit of the knowledge base?
