Title: Power Supply for Pedals
Post by: vinnygalbo on April 06, 2017, 01:22:38 PM
I have a first year HT Dual. I am looking for a back-up power supply for my unit. Has anyone found anything that will replace these? I'm assuming BLACKSTAR doesn't sell power supplies separately.

I hope someone steps up & makes something that can run 2 or 3 pedals at once. We're seeing some companies offering this for EVENTIDE pedals, but it's a slow go for other juice hungry pedals. Someone needs to specifically address juice requirements for BLACKSTAR pedals & multiple pedals at that. I found a power supply that would work but it is ridiculously expensive. http://www.clrwtr.com/PDF/Sola-Hevi-Duty/Sola-SCP-Power-Supply.pdf (http://www.clrwtr.com/PDF/Sola-Hevi-Duty/Sola-SCP-Power-Supply.pdf)

My Blackstar HT dist+ came with a bog standard 16v AC 800mA PSU made by Ktec,  model number = ka23a160080046kd. I couldn't find anything in Google using the model number but it should be cheap enough to find a suitable replacement.

Amazon found this https://www.amazon.com/UpBright-Adapter-Ktec-Model-KA12A160080045D/dp/B00MPBEPN0

I've made several power supplies for my boards, and this pedal is always the pain in the ass. But it is the main part of my sound, so it's always on my board. All you need is a transformer that puts out between 14-18VAC, and needs to supply between 300ma to 1000ma of current. A quick and easy source is the power transformer that alarm companies use, like this one:

The pedal isn't picky at all. Just need some raw ac around 16 volts.
