Hi everybody
Anyone yet tried to remove a decal from a painted hammond box?
I want to recycle it but would be best if I could change the name.
Thanks for any suggestion!
What kind of decal? Won't it just peel off? I can think of a few different ways depending on what it is. Heat gun, sandpaper, adhesive remover, razor blade...
I once had cleared a decal over a gloss painted enclosure. I think I had forgotten to drill a whole or something and taped up the enclosure with blue painter's tape so as not to damage anything. I drilled my hole and removed my tape. As I peeled off a large wide piece of the tape from the top, so came the decal and a few curse words. Now, I try to avoid gloss paint and use satin. I haven't had to go back and redrill since then, so I don't know if the change made any difference.
Thanks!
I didn't think it could be as easy as to peel it off.
The names of the pots are still valid.
But I don't have tried to cut just the name with a scalpell
and glued a decal. The decal on it is waterslide.
Waterslide is what I meant when saying decal, so you might have similar luck in getting it to come off on purpose.
