Title: Is my 3pdt causing a pause in switching?
Post by: Joncaster on July 03, 2018, 08:20:13 AM
Hey,
So boxed up a Rangemaster sorta thing, and it all works fine,
But there is a delay between On and Off. Like a short pause where there's no sound.
I had that once with a DPDT taken from an old Vox reverb toggle, and I figured it was On/Off/On.

Is the fairly cheap 3PDT possibly on/off/on? In said it was on/on when ordered, so maybe they left the 'off' part out.

Just wanted to check if that's the usual cause before I unsolder it and put in a better one.
Thanks!

Is it a stomp or a toggle? As far as I know, the mechanical action of a stomp doesn't let you have a third state, or center off, it's either one way or the other.

Could be a bad switch.

Does it happen when your engaging and disengaging the effect? Have you wired the power to go on/off with the switch for some reason?

Sorry, it wasn't the switch at all, it was me being stupid.
I completely didn't put the output cap in :icon_rolleyes:
It was off-board, and I wired the thing up after a long hiatus, forgot all about it.
So now it is completed!
