Title: "Stasis Leak" DSP chorus/tap delay/plate reverb project
Post by: frequencycentral on November 16, 2019, 03:00:42 PM
Hi! I'm Rick. You may remember me from such projects as Little Angel chorus, Causality 4 phaser and Superfly submini tube amplifier. Well, I'm here to tell you that the bitch is back.

Here's my latest project for guitar, Stasis Leak, a DSP chorus/tap delay/plate reverb pedal. This post really just serves as a placeholder until I get my $h!t together to post soundclips and more details. PCBs will soon be available via my website.

Just saw the website refresh announcement at Muff's.  Looking good!  :icon_cool:  Can't wait to see this pedal stuff arrive.

Nice to have you back, Rick!

The new gizmo looks ace. What's the DSP?

I recognize that! Where did you get the new Belton module? Didn't know they were out yet. How is it? ;D

I bought half a dozen from Belton some weeks ago. They were kind enough to include a fully populated demo PCB with my order. So far I've designed 3 projects using the Belton ABE-FX, a Eurorack module, a MU format module, and the pedal you see above. It's pretty straightforward to design with, and sounds awesome. You can see the Euro and MU modules on my website. 100pcs Belton ABE-FX arriving with me tomorrow, and I have a bulk shipment of the PCB for the pedal version arriving next week, which will be added to my website over the weekend.

Stopped by FC Towers this morning and noticed that the boards for this are now up for sale on the website.  Unfortunately, I feathered the trigger and - BAM! - I seem to have placed an order...   :icon_rolleyes:

How about CV for the pedal version?
3.3V or 5V?

Here's my build of the Stasis Leak. Very straight-forward build. The only non-standard part is the pin header... https://www.ebay.com/itm/20pc-Pin-Female-Header-Pitch-2-54mm-H-8-5mm-Right-Angle-90-1x13p-1x13-13p-RoHS/130828063918?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/20pc-Pin-Female-Header-Pitch-2-54mm-H-8-5mm-Right-Angle-90-1x13p-1x13-13p-RoHS/130828063918?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649)

Neat builds there!

This guy did a video (not me) of his build:

I need to get around to that. I'm too busy doing synth videos, one of which did feature Stasis Leak pedal delay:

That wedding band looks a little tight.  After several occasions where my own inadvertently slipped off my finger and got temporarily lost - once into a big yard waste bag I had just finished filling up with leaves (fun times finding it) - my wife and I decided to trade wedding bands.  Her fingers are a little plumper these days, so her ring fits me comfortably, and mine fits her.

I had forgotten that the Wasp used a membrane keyboard, until I saw you slide across it.  :icon_lol:

> wedding band ....my own inadvertently slipped off my finger and got temporarily lost

A swap worked for you two but not always. I believe getting a ring re-sized may be a LOT cheaper than losing it.
Title: Finally did a Stasis Leak demo video...!
Post by: frequencycentral on April 25, 2020, 01:06:15 PM
Today I am channeling my inner Ennio Morricone / Robin Guthrie with some bottleneck guitar processed through 2 x Stasis Leak chorus/delay/reverb pedals, DI'ed into the desk.

First Stasis Leak is set to a long delay with the tone dialed back to give clarity to the drys. Second Stasis Leak is set to a huge plate reverb wash. Together they create a thick spacious ambient wash of an environment, in which basically anything I play sounds awesome despite my almost complete lack of A list guitar chops. Your opinion may vary.

The Telecaster is tuned to E, B, E, G, B, E.

No roses or bottles were harmed during the making of this video.

Betcha struggled to keep that to only four minutes!

I get lost in things like that and find I've just recorded a twenty minute epic of about four notes....one of those "you had to be there" things....;)
