Title: Rat - Tone/Filter ideas
Post by: kaycee on August 14, 2020, 05:58:34 PM
Hi Gents,

long time no post, been lurking now and then though - other interests having taken hold, but still freeing the black smoke every now and then  ;)

I decided to have a go at the Rat circuit, having in all these years only ever repaired one, never built one. Researched the various mods and set on a couple of ideas: The 'colour' control, and clipping options switch as shown. For ease, I hacked these onto a Bitsbox PCB.

The mods are useful, but I was unimpressed with the Filter/Tone control, which I'd left as is. So, I'd like some suggestions for a better tone control. I'm not a fan of the BMP tone stack, happy to have a Bass and Treble, or single control option. I realise the Rat doesn't have a lot of output, so will also look to replace the jfet output buffer with some gain.

Thanks.
