Title: EHX Memory Boy Troubleshooting
Post by: J.Sauer on October 20, 2020, 10:45:24 PM
I have an old (2010?) Memory Boy and the volume always spikes when I turn it on. It's almost like a boost (that I can't control) with a delay. Which is cool but inconvenient. New to DIY so I figured I'd take a crack at fixing it but I have no idea where to start. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this??

Thanks 🤙

By turn it on, you're talking about engaging the effect with the stomp switch, right? Does the delay time of the volume spike change depending on the settings? try turning the delay time knob to either extreme and compare.

if you're up for it, replace the electrolytic caps in the PS. a bit like "turn it off and on again", but hey, sometimes it works.
