Title: DIY MIDI Pedal and Loop station
Post by: AudioSte on January 20, 2021, 03:39:06 AM
Just finished to build a MIDI Foot Switch + Loop Station.

Here you can see the video of Demo, Project and complete build starting from cutting the Alu:

I used the Arduino Leonardo (atmega32u4 based board) in order to connect MIDI via USB (and MIDI cable).
If you don't need USB you can use the Arduino Uno.
As DAW I used Reaper but any other should be fine (communication is done via MIDI messages).

I've got some problems painting the labels since I used an aluminium diamond plate... any idea?
I used a marker and then cleaned up the borders with a toothpick but still not perfect...

Thanks

I love seeing MIDI projects around here, and µC stuff, bravo

Love it! That's a beast. The foot pedal is particularly good! Really nice work.

For the Labels, could you do the labels on small flat bits of aluminium (stamped, maybe?) and then rivet them on? I think it'd go with the aesthetic of the whole thing. Paint or inks of any type are going to be difficult on such an uneven surface.
