So now I'm also going to have to keep an eye out for old desktop calculators and Hunter timer modules (just like we used in grad school) too?  Oh, great.

Actually, the thing I liked about Nixies, and that doesn't really get mentioned much, is that the filaments are arranged within each tube in a back to front way such that there is a 3-d aspect to a numerical display.

Woah! Puretube, thats all very cool indeed !!!

The thing that REALLY interests me is... YOU DESIGN STUFF THAT EH USES!?!?
-crazy man! thats really awesome. I love the ideas of your pedals.

yes, of the currently produced pedals by Electro-Harmonix,
I so far designed the (tubed):
"Hot Tubes" (new one), the "Tube Zipper",the "Wiggler",
and the (solid-state) : "Worm" and "Pulsar" (new one).

I did not design that nixie-tube clock, nor built it, nor did
the software or java for it: Its only a clone!
(but I like it...).

Ah, that's valve technology for you - three minutes slow!

Actually, I have two digital frequency meters in my workshop; one seven-segment LED, the other using Nixies. Guess which one I prefer?

Hah, Ge-Whiz: caught ya!

look into the lower right corner of your monitor! Whaddayasee?
(assuming you use the standard MS win layout.) :

your own beloved compi`s time - compare with your new nixie-clock!

(I bet I`m even 57 min. ahead of you...)
