I just built Tims Tripple Fuzz on vero ..... then realized that Andy had done a version already !! :oops: ... well it's good practise I guess.
I didn't have a 500k to go across Q2/Q3 so went with a 560k.
I dont get the "splatty fuzz" at all, its a very nice smooth transition from
clean boost to great overdrive ( TS like ) and BIG OD/Fuzz at the top end !!
My only problem was that I only have 500k log pots, so I wired another
560k resistor across lugs 1-3, giving me about a 230k pot... right ?
well it seems the volume is stuffed right up at the end of the travel, hard
to control..... any suggestions, or should I get some 100k lin pots next
time ?
I seem to be preferring "linear" tapers these days on most builds.

Instead of putting your resistor across lugs 1 & 3, try putting it across lugs 1 & 2 (or, 2 & 3). That will change the taper (slope) in half of the pot's rotation, kind of pseudo-log-like.
I think someone here posted a link to a nice page with schemes and graphs, all about altering the taper with different resistor configurations on a linear pot. Can't seem to find it right now, tho. Maybe someone else knows where it is.

Marty, with your 500k lin pot, a 63k going from 1-2, and another 63k going from 2-3 should give you a 100k lin taper.
With the same 500k lin pot, 144k going from 1-2, and 10.4k going from 2-3 should give you a 100k log pot.
