I'm glad you mention the max per port rating.
One little addition you may wish to consider is that the LM2940 is an LDO good to 1A. They work well where the 2950 is too small. :icon_biggrin:

I actually had that one mentioned but I figured that as you go past 500mA one would probably not be using a battery at that point so it would be easier to goto something more common like a 78xx.
I did think about mentioning the 2937 for 500mA, the 2954 for 250mA, and even the 2930 for 150mA. Maybe I still will.
