Title: doug hammond highway'89 metal mod
Post by: ulysses on July 06, 2007, 09:37:57 AM
hey guys

i just had my first "happy accident". i was building a second hwy'89 to put in a 1590b instead of a bb.

i accidently put C1 round the wrong way. switched polarity.

so if anyone has a hwy89 and thought it wasn't "metal'y" enough then try switching C1 around.

cheers

Do you have pics of the board you're using?

Can you describe the sound further with the reversed cap?

Thanks

John

Sorry about the naive question but is it "safe" to reverse that cap? Also, the 89 has lots of great sounding gain right out of the gate. Is it a scooped sound?
