:-\ I went to build this bad bear off of the schematic only the pins 6 and 7 of the schematic are backwards to the wiring diagram. if you build it off of the schem alone the project does not work. switch these two pins around on the board and VIOLA!!! I am not sure if anyone brought this up before but it was a few minutes of "WHAT THE F--K!" on my part

hi curran, check again. pins 6 and 7 are correct on the bread board wiring diagram and consistent with the schem. for example, the schem says that pin 6 hooks up with C4 and C4 hooks up with pin 6 on the wiring diagram via a jumper.
perhaps you are not counting the pin numbers correctly? pin 1 has the square pad, lower left-hand corner. pin 4 is in the lower right-hand corner. pin 5 is immediately above pin 4, on the upper right-hand corner. if you mistakenly count pin 5 in the upper left-hand corner then you could get pins 6 and 7 reversed.
