Title: wiring
Post by: darrylportelli on June 21, 2009, 04:31:40 PM
HI,
How do you guys keep your wiring neat and tidy? I used to wire my pedals like a hurricane passed through but now Im wiring neatly but still id like to hear some suggestions about how to keep neat wiring. after I started wiring neatly almost all my pedals worked on first firing so Id like to keep it as tidy as possible
Thanks
Darryl Portelli

Small cable ties occasionally or use a solid core wire that stays where you put it.

Another idea suggested to me by John Lyons as well as others is to make a jig that matches the hole pattern in your enclosure.  You mount all your pots, switches, board etc. to the jig do all that wiring outside of the box and it gives it much better to access everything.  I wire all the jacks into the enclosure first then do the jig work and finally move the jigged work into the box and finish it all up.

hey,
You guys really wire your stuff neatly!!!! compared to you my circuits are like chickens compared to elephants!!!!
BUT!!! I think I wire my circuits differently from you I use this wiring diagram (for normal 3pdt switch) from geofex:(//) (I dont know if I uploaded it correctly)
and I usually omit the battery and use the transformer since I never run my pedals on battery but unlike you I have wires crossing all over my enclosure!!! now taking a look at my units I think I use a little too much cable ..today Im building an mxr phase 90 and Ill keep it as neat as pssible and now that I have your pics I can follow them and try to keep it neat as possible 10x
