Title: Debug Help! Green Ringer
Post by: nomorebetts on March 08, 2010, 12:56:15 AM
Hi all,
I'm having some major issues with my first build.  After some noob mistakes such as frying some resistors by testing ohmage while the power supply was attached, I think I'm close.
But I'm in need of some help.

I think it half works;
- Bypass works.
- There is sound, although it doesn't really sound like the sounds samples.
- The LED indicator doesn't light up.

I'm using the General Guitar Gadgets circuit and PCB, which I etched myself.

Here are the voltages at the trannies.
Battery: 8.43v

Q1
C = 4.7
B = 1.64
E = 1.26

Q2
C= 2.9
B= 4.7
E= 5.43

Q3
C= 8.43
B= 3.71
E= 3.36

I've traced through the schema and noticed there are no volts after C1 and C5.  Could this be the issue?  Other voltages can be seen below in the schema where I've traced it through.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!

I still need some help with this.

Message me and I'll send you the picture of the schema I've traced through.

Cheers

well, about the led check the 3pdt's pins and the led's lug polarity... then yes... even to me it doesn't sounds exactly like the samples...  :icon_twisted:

If your LED doesn't light up, I would check and see if your battery is leaking to ground. Does the Battery warm up and loss voltage very quickly? This could be considering your LED not lighting up, and it would also make the pedal not work.
