Title: EHX Graphic Fuzz
Post by: soggybag on June 03, 2010, 05:41:38 PM
Has anyone seen a schematic for the EHX Graphics Fuzz. I'm curious how this works. I'm guessing it has some sort of TS type distortion section, the EQ. And there's the dynamics thing, which is a very interesting addition not seen in many fuzz boxes.

It's been a while since I've played with one- I seem to remember it having a fuzz on/off switch, and with the fuzz off it basically acted like a graphic EQ.  So my guess it's more like a graphic EQ with some fuzz/clipping incorporated.

What I noticed working on the GEO 7 band EQ is that if you add too much gain in front of the EQ section you start getting a fuzzy type distortion with the bands boosted.
I am guessing its the op amp clipping and not the Qs(5088s) but I am not sure it could both or either.
And it would also be rather simple to add some diodes to the FBL that gives the bands their boost.
Or even after shunted to ground.
