Hi,

Nice job, indeed - are those HV or LV plate supply ?

A+!

Thankyou -  they are all low voltage plate supply 12 Volt DC

Cheers Paul

They are beautiful! But, what are they? OD? Any gut shots or schematics?

OD/Distortion would be the best guess as to what would possess someone to put a vacuum tube on the floor and kick at it with their foot.

Also, I don't think you'd really be shooting for a clean pre-amp with a plate voltage of 12V...   :icon_biggrin:

Dude, very cool stuff. What was your first valve project? Could you suggest a simple one?

And then the Dual Valvecaster... 1st valve = 12AU7, 2nd valve 12AT7
Running at 12 volt...

Sounds amazingly good in combination with my Gibson SG and my JCM800 stack...
Very solid and powerful sound...

Tacoboy  excellent build...good design - abolutely shocking graphics (it's like you gave up & thought ..."F*%*, I can't be bothered anymore...now where did I put that massive felt tip pen?")

I love that pedal. Sharpies are the best thing ever invented for graphics imho  :icon_lol: nice work!

@Gurner: you're exactly right! It works, so why bother about the graphics?  :icon_lol:

But you should definitely bother about proper tubes protection, none of these pedals (although beautiful they are!) is ready for the floor use.. They are little too high too, I'd try try to sink those tubes inside a little (you may once want to add it into some pedalboard or rack bay or something, where internal height is limitted to common pedal dimensions)..

I've done several (very wild) gigs on stage, and no problem whatsoever.
Always carrying some spare tubes, of course  :icon_lol:

Granted , how did you make the tube's glow ?!

Pretty much all 9pin tube sockets have a hole in the middle....probably for using it with different tubes? ???
Anyway...you just put a led in there and that's it! ;)

A hole ? Wow , i believe i can stick a cheap arc rect tube complete with a blue LED , on my power supply if there were holes in them too .
or stick a 12AX7 and get a orange LED .

Yeah, or try a RGB led...

I think I have the same bug. Here some work in progress - going to graft together a Vibracaster (low gain valvecaster with LFO circuit to give tremolo) and a boobtube (modified valvecaster with 40V plate supply from charge pump). BTW both are wired directly on the back of the tube socket.
