IIUC...
Stepper motors go from one state to another depending on which coils have current going through them.
Introducing DC current pulses through coils 1, 2, 3, 4, one at a time should cause the shaft to rotate ?
Edit:
I didn't think it could easily be hacked until I tried a few codes and found that works.
two coils [L/R], 9vdc [battery]...
Charge coil L, Charge coil R.
Reverse polarity.
Charge coil L charge coil R.
...turns the motor.
Neat little excersize in stepper motor code hacking.
