What the heck was I building?

We've got a 7805CP, 2N5089 on the right, BC-560C on the left.

I built a bunch of pedals 8 years or so ago, but haven't touched this stuff in a long time.  My guess is some sort of PT2399-based delay maybe?  Though I haven't ran across one of those chips yet.

If anyone recognizes the PCB layout or circuit and could point me toward a schematic I'd be ecstatic!

Hi Andy,

my guess is maybe an Equinox or Solstice reverb of Merlinb's design, based on the fact there are 2 sockets with 100n caps surrounding em and a 5V regulator.

also those diodes in the bottom-left, next to 3 holes in a TO-92 shape, could suggest the bypass switching subcircuit. not sure what the second 8-pin socket and extra BJT could be for, though.

maybe?

I was thinking the same thing.  The two diodes might be a cheap limiter for the feedback loop, so infinite feedback doesn't get out of hand.  Merlin does that.

So the 2nd 14pin IC is that 4066 tails switch. I get it.

We need a "zombie PCB" thread.  The OP is not the only person who has a bad habit of etching and stuffing boards that sit around awaiting final wiring and installation longer than the duration of the memory trace regarding what they are.

I don't think I etched this thing myself... must have gotten it from someone on here. :icon_mrgreen:

It's definitely an Echo Base, I don't recognise that layout though, don't think I've seen it before.

@Mark: shoot!  I've got a box full of perfs like that, and some stuck in parts-storage drawers as well.  Some of them I had the sense to try and write the name on...some of them evoke a lot of head-scratching!   :o
