This recent upstart company was mentioned on Ampage either earlier this year or late last year (http://www.do-in-music.com/Do-In-Products_English.htm).  The products seemed interesting and of suitable quality, and the prices seemed fair.  Anyone have any hands-on experience with either the pedals themselves or the company?

To me, their logo suggests the name "Dino" rather than Do-In.

I'm guessing the entire circuit rests below the knob panel.  I imagine that streamlines production quite a bit, and they have a unique "riveted" look as a result.

I agree.  The fabrication technique is sensible since it permits  a much leaner operation than something like the Boss or DOD boxes where the entire box has to be cast or machined for either a 2, 3, or 4 knob profile.  Here, they can get a bulk rate on the overall chassis frame, and all that has to be different is the mounting plate, which is a simple punched plate.  As I've noted before, I love their idea for daisy-chaining one PSU across multiple pedals via the two power-jack system they employ.

after listening to the chorus and flanger samples I'd be willing to bet they're based on the princeton tech delay chips -certainly not ideal for those applications with the minimum possible delay being what it is.

I love the enclosure design though, I wish I could get my hands on some blanks

Their pricing is very cheap, it's almost worth taking a punt and buying one. I'm interested in the chorus

if you look at their chorus pedal it's model no. is SCH-1 - same model no. as the infamous arion chorus pedal. I wonder......

Well, the price and appearance is right, even if some of the sound samples are a bit unconvincing. Slightly disappointed to see that the 'parametric' EQ isn't - rather, it's a graphic with rotary controls.

How do you figure out the pricing, translated to US$? Also, why is the Arion Chorus "infamous"? I thought it was a secret weapon with a lot of reputable guitarists...

I worked it out in aussie dollars ($95) for me with this:

Great little currency calculator!

1 AUD approx= 5 HKD approx=0.65 USD

so 1 USD approx= 7.5 - 7.6 HKD

I received my Do-In DE-1 Delay/Echo today. :D

Build quality is pretty good. The bent metal enclosure is thicker than a black russian (sovtek) EH pedal, and the size is smaller, making it more sturdy, in comparison. Lots of screws holding it together. Need to remove 14 if you want to take a look inside, which (of course) I did. Again, all very nice and tidy. The modularity of this line of pedals is very apparent. Nice design work.

On the PCB, there are a couple of 4558 opamps and a sanded off dip-16 IC, which looks a lot like a PT2399. And, I have to say, it sounds almost exactly like my PT-80... in other words, it sounds really nice! In addition to the controls for delay time, feedback (repeats), and delay level, there is a control for overall output level and a mode switch for echo/delay. Switching from echo to delay seems to just disable the feedback (repeats).

All in all, certainly worth the price of admission. Pretty quick shipping, too. 8)
