i build the blue magic, and it's really a good overdrive,... i really like it....

i never try switching transistor in a circuit, and i decide to try it with the blue magic...
so i switch the J201 with a mpf102.... but i don't know why...it's not working...no sound, so i try about 4 mpf102 ( maybe the first one was no good) but still no sound...nothing...

i put back the J201, and the sound is back as normal...
i look at the datasheet of both, and it's the same pin out....

so i wounder, do i have to change some resistor or cap to switch J201 to mpf102?

thank'S for the help....

Yup You must change the input cap for something bigger i built mine using mpf102 and I almsot become crazy looking for what was wrong, until i change that cap, I think I used 0.1 or 0.047 instead of 0.001.
If you do that would yo be so kind to tell me if theres any background noise in yours, because in mine theres a hum whcih is pretty loud

Cheers
