Is that supposed to be THD? A perfect square wave has 48.3% THD so I doubt you're seeing 84%! :o

if you put in a 110Hz sine wave, distort that, and then take all low end out of the signal with the tone control on brightest, the THD reader shows 84%
mainly because of the filtering taking out the fundamental freq.
