I have a bunch of plexitone clone circuits and am currently working on the Model M (good size 2ch box) and a Mosky Plexi m v2. Having to downsize again! Stuck with Digital modellers and prefer a good dirt box in front as they can't really get a satisfying non extreme feel. Very one-dimensional.
I am trying to get closer to a Neil Geraldo type 2201/2203/4 tone maybe a little Malcom young too.
I have changed the gain pots to 100k, putting the range where I want it on both.
My main concern is the clipping diodes.
I tend to prefer symmetric but some asymmetry sounds good at low gain.

Changing the SMD (mosky) to std 3mm reds was a big improvement although I'll probably go with 4 as option 1 and possibly a small resistor on one side to throw it off a hair.
I'm playing with a 4x ge clipper and a mixed 4148/ge 4 diode clipper at the moment in another pedal.
The GE options seem to get me closer to the Engl feel at high gain and bluesyish at low gain and also
gets that MK2c liquid lead thing. A tad muddy though. Don't want to go too crazy due to SMD but I have another pedal with smd and discrete mixed I'm also playing with (kohl? OD-1/Arion)(the red one).

Would a 3/3 or 3/4 GE set give me a better edge of breakup to roar or possibly 2ge and one 4148 per side pair? Not going for Chug Chug here. Trying to get the early 2204? lower gain tones through base rock tone. Wondering of 6 GE diodes would really muddy things up or over compress. I kinda like the edge the SI adds at higher gain levels in the mixed set.
Led probably too high a voltage to work with GE.  Perhaps, led first followed by small resistor then 2-3 GE per side? (dumbest question is the one not asked).
God it's so much easier with tubes....sigh. Digital boxes don't seem to be able to get that feel/tone.

Trying to find/mod a 2 ch pedal to sit between Twin type clean and Engl Savage rock as a low to mid gain anchor pedal. I think I like the OLD Marshall sounds in this range like Superbass and 2203/4.
Basically a decent versatile crunch/od channel pedal in a mini case. Rhythm player!
Clarification, not looking to go from Twin clean to Savage. More Twin/Tweed EOB dirt to Engl Crunch.

I really want to pull the trigger on a CRAB Ukrainian Twin or 530 tube pedal but size may be an issue at the moment.
